Here, visitors can learn about the origins of Berlin&#8217;s modern media world and experience the spirit of researchers and professors from previous generations. Starting in the mid-19th century, the northern part of the site became an innovative postal and communications center, reaching far beyond Berlin&#8217;s borders.  <\/p>\n<p>Up to 20,000 telegrams left the main telegraph office daily, sending messages via Europe&#8217;s oldest pneumatic tube system, which at the end of the 1930s had a 253.6 km long network.
