Stately living at a world heritage site directly on the Spree
After the Charité had repeatedly acquired land opposite the park of Monbijou Palace since 1895, a new building was constructed on Monbijoustrasse from 1902 to 1906. The neo-baroque designs were designed by Georg Thür, who shortly thereafter built the Ida Simon House directly next door.
The magnificent, stately city palace became part of the women’s clinic in 1927. It is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, located directly opposite the domed Bode Museum, built at the same time, and on the Monbijou Bridge.
The Monbijou Residence was modernized by Patzschke & Partner Architects while preserving its former splendor and aura. The redesigned city apartments reflect the stately style of the past.
